The rumours that we are planning to come to Netherlands are spreading slowly and gradually and of course they are true. Two weeks ago a relocation company visited our place in Ladphrao Bangkok and they packed our furniture (about half of it) which is now stored somewhere in a warehouse in Samutphrakan and ready to be shipped to Holland. So the situation is that we left Bangkok and at the moment we are staying in our small house in Cha-am. Juliette is much occupied preparing visa, birth certificates and other stuff for Holland while I am working at the university with the final exams starting next week. Planning our way to Amsterdam is absolutely not easy for us. We try hard but we fail harder! but as a result we have to stay longer together as a family, near nice beaches in this comfortable tropical climate. Some of you might start thinking we do this on purpose and that we are afraid of snow but the truth is that there are many rules for Chinese people to get visa and work permit for The Netherlands. And being in bureaucratic not to well-organised Asia doesn’t speed up the progress. So as we are approaching Chinese New Year it is very likely that Juliette can’t have her documents ready until the second week of March. Keeping in mind that we are not great planners we dare to tell you that we ‘plan’ to go all together to The Netherlands in the second week of March.

How are you doing Maurice? Thanks for asking (reading) this question. We are fine because we have been happily enjoying the holiday break, almost a full month. We are still enjoying: nice weather, cheese from Holland, Magaritta’s new play-school and new games from Holland. But truth is that I speak mostly for myself because Juliette has been working most of her time.
We of course keep a ‘busy-bee’ schedule and within this month we have visited Ayuthaya the Ancient city, Cha-am beach and plus that Maurice visited the wedding of Jan and Esther in Netherlands.

Het is zover Esther en Jan gaan elkaar het ‘Ja’ woordje geven.

Wij zouden er graag als Lioords gezin dus zal in ieder geval Maurice aanwezig zijn en zullen Magaritta en Juliette op een afstandje meeleven.

Maurice is dus van 1 t/m 12 oktober in NL en zou het natuurlijk leuk vinden om familie en vrienden te onmoeten.

Hallo iedereen,

Het is al weer een tijdje geleden sinds ik een stukje heb geschreven over ons leven hier in Bangkok en Cha-am. De reden is natuurlijk niet onze laksheid, maar wel het feit dat wij heel druk zijn. Zo hadden we bezoek uit Aruba, NL en zelfs Nieuw Zeeland.

Tommie is een goede vriend, uit de tijd van China, hij kwam even twee maanden bij ons in Thailand buurten. Hij heeft inmiddels een job in China die hij prima kan combineren met online werk uit New Zeeland.

Ook super gezellig was het bezoek uit Aruba natuurlijk. Magaritta heeft een volle tijd lekker met haar opa en oma kunnen spelen en natuurlijk met haar favoriete oom Colin. Ja, de familie Woortjes hebben ons een betoverend gezelligheid gebracht. Zelf zijn zij ook nog even op pad geweest, voor twee weekjes, naar het noorden van Thailand: Chiangmai en Nongkai.

Vandaag had Magaritta haar eerste dagje op een school en kinderdagverblijf in Huahin, vlakbij Cha-am. Ze heeft het reuze naar de zin en ligt nu lekker te dromen van de volgende dagen op ‘haar’ school.

Finally we have made time to write on the website again. Yes it has been awhile, but we have a good excuse (as usual): we had visitors from: Netherlands, New Zealand and even Aruba.

Tommie our good friend from New Zealand stayed with us for almost 2 months. By now he has found teaching work in Shenzhen (China) which he can combine nicely with his online work from back home (NZ).

During these two months the Woortjes from Aruba also visited Thailand giving us a magical time. Magaritta enjoyed fulltime attention from her grandma, grandpa and Colin.

Today was Magaritta’s first day at the kindergarten in Huahin near Cha-am. She is really enthusiastic about going to school and at the moment she is already dreaming about tomorrow’s school day again.
